After doing the HJSPLIT and then renaming the zip file to ipsw. I proceeded to do the SHIFT + RESTORE under itunes 9.2. Iphone is in RESTORE MODE.

I then get an error saying that the firmware restore is not compatible with my iphone. Wtf?i have an iphone 3GS 4.0 with 05.11.07 (previously JB and UNLOCKED with SN0WBREEZE 1.52 with 3.1.3 05.11.07) should i be doing a SHIFT + UPDATE instead of RESTORE? Ive tried to the SHIFT + RESTORE with my SNOWBREEZE 1.6.1, should i be doing the SHIFT + UPDATE instead?

Also another thing. After i do the the RESTORE from APPLE i get an error 29. I then have to bring the iphone over to another computer and run BLACKRA1N RC3 so i can get it out of restore mode.

After that itunes brings it up and sees the iphone 3gs ok.when i do the restore with my custom ipsw’s it just seems to hang there. If i use the stock firmware, it seems to do the update. Is my phone defective? The first time i did it with pwnage tool 4.01 i did the shift restore with custom ipsw and got it to go. Only downside was that it kept rebooting itself every 4 mins. So i restored back to 3.1.3, and everything was fine. Me, being the retard that i am, gave it another try.

Still the same result. Kept rebooting. So i restored back to 3.1.3. But this time i wasnt so lucky. Iphone and itunes refused the down grade and i was left with no iphoneits now the 2nd day with no phone and no work. Cuz i need my phone for worksuxplease advise. Thanks guys.Paul.

Hi, I have an iphone 3GS new bootrom, locked to AT&T, loaded with 3.1.2. I jailbroke it using blackrain and cydia, it worked fine and was able to use it outside US, until yesterday it froze and while trying to reboot, i realized that i was getting the recovery mode. I am trying to restore original firmware with no luck at all, always eror 1604, i tried all way possible and read all threats. I am afraid the problem is in my 3gs and not itunes, since i tried more than 3 pcs with different itunes version.my question is what version shall i restore and how and does it need to be a custom firmware or original. Now my iphone seems to be useless and i hate to feel that.help please.
