I guess using the boot disk works for some but that would a pain have to reboot every time you want to make a backup. With it installed, my system does an incremental backup of my boot drive every evening. By using the incremental backup method you can backup everyday and you would never even know when it was making a backup if it wasn't for the little tray icon that it shows while busy.it's set to 'low' priority so it's very unlikely to slow you down while it's imaging. If your worried about disk space, with incremental backups just the first backup is of the full boot partition image and then the following daily backup only consists of the data that has changed since the last backup was done.
