Heinthese cases, the image-guided setup was repeated thus increasing setup time. In Figure 1, the TRE comparison between optical pre-positioning and image-based correction is shown for the non-RC (left panel) and RC patients (right panel). Median quartile valueswere reduced from 3.55 1.33 mm to 2.14 0.95 mm (non-RC), and from 4.34 1.69 mm to 2.46 0.76 mm (RC). Resultshighlight comparable setup accuracy with and without robotic couch.as valuable operators4DCBCT on right). Compared with the conventional 4DCBCT, the overall reduction in CT number fluctuation is 38% andenS684the CNR increase is 65%.Conclusions: A novel technique for enhancing 4DCBCT images without increasing scan time and radiation dose has bedevelopedcalculation.performance.Author Disclosure: M. Baroni, None.2864 Deformable Model and Four-Dimensional Reconstruction for Onboard CBCTT. Timmerman1, L. Xing21UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX, 2Stanford University, Stanford, CAPurpose/Objective(s): Respiration-correlated or 4D cone-beam CT imaging has recently been shown clinically feasible, andhighly desirable for target localization in stereotactic radiotherapy of lung cancer. Due to the slow rotation speed of the Linac gantryand limited clinical time, the image quality of current 4DCBCT is significantly inferior to the diagnostic 4DCT. This work inves-tigates a new technique to improve 4DCBCT imaging.Materials/Methods: The major issue of 4DCBCT lies in the view-aliasing artifacts resulted from insufficient sampling. The de-veloped new technique, integrating deformable registration into CBCT image reconstruction, successfully increases the samplingrate for each phase by properly borrowing projections from other phases.
Specifically, a motion model linking the data of dif-ferent phases is derived from deformable registrations of coarse (regular) 4DCBCT phases. This 4D patient model allows us toproperly transform projections from other phases onto the phase under reconstruction.
